New Digs

I am moved into my new digs. Just have to clean out/up the old apartment. Lots of sunlight here. Nice.

Moving….

I’m moving out of the lovely East Village and heading for Astoria sometime this month. I’ll be living in the room that was formerly Endmusik studios. I’m kinda tired of paying $1400/month for a 10×13 ’studio’ apartment and having to work my day job all the time to afford it. I haven’t been able to work on the MSTHTP album since november - I’ve sold my Motu 828 and other things to trim down the move. Don’t worry! There’s some new audio i/o sexiness on the horizon (as soon as I’m moved in, I’m hitting the eBay shop!)

Expect a sudden spurt of new material as soon as I’m settled. Things have been dark for me lately, and I need to deal with them somehow….

Music Seems To Help The Pain progress

So, Music Seems To Help The Pain is going along swimmingly. I have 8 (9) songs in pretty complete formative stages. I want to re-track all my vocals. The newer songs have beens layers of Machinedrum and MPC, Bass and Ukelele and Nylon Classical Guitar. I’ve kind of lost interest in electric guitar for now. The new Dead Sextons material has had Phil doing cornet in a pseudo horn section way, and I’d like to add that to the MSTHTP songs. I just came back from Erics in Williamsburg and he loaned me his circuit-bent HR-16, which I can’t wait to drop over everything. He also turned me on to the new Burnkit record, which is the shiznit and makes me want to add more circuit bent and 8-bit to the mix. I think the layering of that with acoustic instruments would really create such a beautiful bed. Throw all the shit in the stew, sez I.
